API Gateway
Tools: Kong, AWS API Gateway, Envoy, NGINX.
Responsibilities: routing, auth, rate limiting, request transformation, load balancing.
Observability Stack
- Distributed tracing: Jaeger / Tempo
- Metrics: Prometheus + Grafana
- Logs: ELK / Loki
- Service mesh: Istio / Linkerd (adds mTLS, traffic management)
